How the first five picks in the 2023 NFL Draft are shaping up

Believe it or not, the 2023 NFL Draft is mere months away.

With only one week left in the regular season, NFL teams will know soon enough how the final draft order will fall.

The Houston Texans have the inside track on the first pick in the draft, with all eyes on Alabama quarterback Bryce Young as the pick.

Young declared for the draft this week and could be the next college quarterback taken first overall.

The next four picks all a crapshoot at this point. Tankathon has the order going: Chicago at Pick 2, Seattle (via Denver) at Pick 3, Arizona at Pick 4 and Indianapolis at Pick 5.

The Bears, Seahawks and Cardinals could all be trade-down candidates for a team in quarterback mode.

Kentucky quarterback Will Levis is ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper's top-ranked signal caller for the 2023 class, while Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud raised his draft standing with a stellar Peach Bowl performance.

Quarterback-needy teams could include Indianapolis, Atlanta, Carolina, Detroit, Las Vegas, New York (Jets), Tennessee, Washington and Tampa Bay.

Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson is the draft's wild cart at quarterback and could go earlier than expected.

However, Chicago, Seattle and Arizona could also stick put and take one of the blue-chip defensive prospects on the board.

Alabama defensive end Will Anderson Jr., Georgia defensive lineman Jalen Carter, Clemson defensive end Myles Murphy, Texas Tech defensive end Tyree Wilson and Clemson defensive tackle Bryan Bresee are the top five players Kiper has on his most recent big board

Teams will have the next couple of months to negotiate trades and study prospects before the 2023 NFL Draft rolls around in April.

After Young's likely landing in Houston, the next four picks remain a giant mystery.
