How the Packers can improve upon an impressive 2021 season

Despite not winning a Super Bowl after yet another 13-win season, the Green Bay Packers proved that they were the best team in the league. They just happened to have their worst performance of the season in the biggest game of the year. They beat plenty of quality teams, performed extremely well statistically and had elite players all around the roster. 

In 2021, Green Bay faced six playoff teams (49ers, Steelers, Bengals, Cardinals, Chiefs, Rams). The Pack went 5-1 with the one loss coming in Kansas City without quarterback Aaron Rodgers. They also dominated the NFC North once again by winning the division for the third consecutive year. Their only real division loss came against Minnesota on a walk-off field goal. The second loss came against Detroit in Week 18, but the starters, including Rodgers, were pulled in the secod half. The team performed so well all year long, especially in important regular season games. 

Statistically, the Packers finished top 10 in both total offense and total defense. They were very consistent, led by the back-to-back MVP Rodgers. Running backs Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon both recorded over 1,100 scrimmage yards. Davante Adams had another All-Pro season. Rashan Gary and Preston Smith both sacked the opposing quarterback at least nine times. Middle linebacker De'Vondre Campbell was voted as a First-Team All-Pro in his first season with the team. Kenny Clark made his second Pro Bowl on the interior. Rasul Douglas was a Pro Bowl alternate after grabbing a team-high five interceptions. 

Green Bay's best players played very well all year long outside of the divisional round against San Francisco.

Looking forward to 2022, Green Bay will face the Rams, Buccaneers, Patriots, Bills, Cowboys, Titans, Eagles and Dolphins. Each of those teams is a playoff-hopefuls, but if the Packers play like they did last regular season, they will set themselves up for another chance at a Super Bowl. They just need to perform better in the bigger moments in January.
