Last month, the veteran head coach Bill Belichick parted ways with the New England Patriots following a dominant run that spanned more than 2 decades. After he exited New England, he was expected to be pursued by many teams in this head coach hiring cycle, but that hasn’t been the case. Amidst this situation, the Baltimore Ravens star Marlon Humphrey takes a massive dig at the veteran HC.

The Ravens’ former All-Pro defensive back Marlon Humphrey took to social media to question the contributions of Bill Belichick in the Patriots dynasty.

The “ greatest coach of All time” did not get hired out of 6 Head Coaching jobs open . I think that debate can be put to rest now. Marlon Humphrey wrote on X

It is assumed that Humphrey is talking about the Tom Brady vs. Bill Belichick debate. Ever since Brady left the Patriots in 2020, the fans started to question who was really the driving force behind the Patriots dynasty that spanned over two decades. Some experts have taken the side of Brady while others believe it was Belichick.

Tom Brady proved a lot when he won a Super Bowl ring in his first year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but the same cannot be said about the head coach. Belichick hasn’t won a single playoff game in 4 years since Brady left him. The Patriots only won 4 games in the 2023 season and the team had to move on from Belichick.

Contrary to everyone’s expectations, not a lot of teams pursued Belichick despite many teams needing a head coach. The Atlanta Falcons were the only team that had an interview with Belichick, but they ended up hiring Raheem Morris as their new leader. For now, Belichick’s future in the league remains uncertain.

Tom Brady’s dad rips Bill Belichick apart

Bill Belichick, one of the most successful head coaches in the league’s history, has been on the receiving end of criticism in the last few months.

Most recently, the former Patriots quarterback Tom Brady’s father Tom Brady’s Sr. claimed Bills’ ego ruined the Patriots dynasty during a recent interview with the Boston Globe.

Ego sometimes gets in the way of things. I think it did with Bill. Now, he’s in a situation where he’s gotten crucified for the last few years by everybody and a lot of luster has come off his rose

Tom Brady Sr. told Boston Globe.

Apparently, most of the owners also seem to believe Brady had more to do with the Patriots dynasty since a lot of teams didn’t even show interest in pursuing Belichick despite needing a leader.
