Incredible stat against the Eagles proves Dak Prescott inaccuracy claims were exaggerated

Dak Prescott was in the zone against the Eagles, unraveling their defense with pinpoint precision in a 40-34 victory on Saturday. It was a season-defining moment and proved early claims about his inaccuracy were exaggerated.

According to Next Gen Stats, Prescott went 24-of-24 when Philadelphia ran zone coverage, becoming the first player to earn a perfect passing score (99) vs. zone since 2018.

Prescott finished 27-of-35 overall, completing 77.1 percent of his passes. Per Yahoo Sports' Jori Epstein, it was his fifth game with a completion percentage of 75 or better, tying Joe Burrow for the most in the league.

Through 10 starts, Prescott is second in the NFL in completion percentage, connecting on 69% of his throws.

Exceptional, especially for a quarterback who failed to crack ESPN's top 10 in accuracy before the season.

"He isn't quite in the tier of elite QB accuracy," wrote Football Outsiders' Aaron Schatz and Doug Klassen, who compiled the list along with other ESPN NFL experts.

Kellen Moore's opinion differs. The Cowboys offensive coordinator believes Prescott possesses the patience needed for a highly accurate QB.

"I think Dak's historically done a tremendous job of balancing those two sides. As a QB, you want the 50-yard bombs...but you also need to bore yourself with completions," Moore told The Athletic's Jon Machota recently.

The ability to withstand boredom helped Dallas' offense excel. Through 15 games, it's third in scoring offense behind Kansas City and Philadelphia.

Prescott's meticulous process makes him a skillful passer the Cowboys can trust as they prepare for a playoff run.
