The Indianapolis Colts hire a quarterbacks coach

New Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen’s staff is coming together. The team recently chose to retain Gus Bradley as their defensive coordinator for the upcoming season. On Tuesday, the team chose the next quarterback’s coach.

According to Tom Pelissero with the NFL Network, the Colts will name Cam Turne r as their quarterback’s coach for 2023. Turner has previous experience with the Arizona Cardinals. He has been the Cardinals quarterback’s coach/ passing game coordinator for the past two seasons. Turner worked with Cam Newton when they were with the Carolina Panthers.

Murray made the Pro Bowl in 2020 and 2021 when Turner was the assistant quarterback’s coach and then the quarterback’s coach. Murray was in his second NFL season when he appeared in his first Pro Bowl.

Turner’s expertise at the quarterback position will come at the right time for the Colts. The Colts, who currently own the number four draft pick, are expected to take a quarterback in the first round. Turner could help teach the rookie quarterback how to elevate their skills in the NFL.

Turner will work under new Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter. Cooter has had experience coaching NFL quarterback’s such as Peyton Manning, Matthew Stafford, and Trevor Lawrence.
