The Indianapolis Colts have agreed to re-sign cornerback Kenny Moore, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

It’s a three-year, $30 million deal that makes him the highest-paid nickelback in NFL history.

Moore is coming off of a terrific 2023 campaign in which he played 16 games and registered 93 tackles, 1.5 sacks, three interceptions, six passes defended and a couple of defensive touchdowns, both of which came in the same game.

The 28-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Valdosta State, went undrafted but landed with the Colts in 2017.

He appeared in every contest during his rookie year, logging 38 tackles, a pick, a forced fumble and five passes defended.

Moore’s role grew significantly during his sophomore season, as he became a full-time starter and recorded 77 tackles, 1.5 sacks, three interceptions, a forced fumble and 11 passes defended.

He has been a fixture in Indianapolis’ backfield ever since, and in 2021, he made a trip to the Pro Bowl after racking up 102 tackles, a sack, four picks, a forced fumble and 13 passes defended.

Moore had a bit of a down year in 2022, as he was limited to just 12 games due to injuries and finished with 65 tackles, a sack and four passes defended.

The Valdosta, Ga. native rebounded nicely this past season.

Indy entered the offseason with considerable cap space, so re-signing Moore was not a big deal for the club financially. The Colts also ranked just 24th in defense in 2023, so retaining Kenny Moore was paramount. So is adding other pieces on that side of the ball.

We’ll see what Indianapolis does as the offseason progresses.

The Colts went 9-8 and missed the playoffs this past year.
