Over the past year, the Chicago Bears have made significant additions to their receiving corps, potentially leaving Velus Jones Jr. on the outskirts. As a rookie, Jones Jr. recorded 7 receptions for 107 yards and one touchdown, while also contributing as a kick and punt returner on special teams.

However, with the acquisitions of DJ Moore, Chase Claypool, and the drafting of Tyler Scott, Jones Jr. finds himself lower on the depth chart. While he hasn't shown enough promise to secure a spot on the Bears' roster, he could be an appealing trade target for another team, as suggested by Bleacher Report's Jake Rill.

Rill believes that Jones Jr. has untapped potential but, at 26 years old, may not have as bright of a long-term future on Chicago's depth chart compared to other receivers. Considering the uncertainty surrounding his spot in the team's roster during training camp, the Bears might consider exchanging him for a draft pick, providing him with an opportunity elsewhere and gaining value in return.

Although Bears GM Ryan Poles has made impressive strides in revamping the team on both sides of the ball, there's still work to be done. Offering Jones Jr. a chance to prove himself elsewhere while potentially benefitting from a trade could prove to be a win-win situation for all parties involved. Only time will tell where Jones Jr. stands on the Bears' depth chart after training camp.
