'It would surprise no one' if Ravens re-sign four-time Pro Bowler

As the Ravens round out their roster for the 2023 season, they may want to add to their pass rush to help their championship aspirations and it could be with a familiar face.

"[Justin] Houston has signed with the Ravens in July and August the last two offseasons, and it would surprise no one if it happened again in the coming weeks," The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec writes. "The Ravens could use a veteran edge rusher to join an outside linebacker group that includes Tyus Bowser and youngsters Odafe Oweh, David Ojabo and Tavius Robinson."

Houston, a four-time Pro Bowler, has played for Baltimore the past two seasons, totaling 55 tackles, 14 sacks, two forced fumbles and one interception. He may be 34 but proved he still has some gas left in the tank last year by leading the Ravens in sacks (9.5).

He would also provide some insurance to the group as Bowser and Ojabo missed significant time due to injuries in 2022.

Houston not only led the team in sacks a year ago but did so while only playing 44 percent of the snaps, and he already said he wanted to return to Baltimore in January.

"The way I feel right now – I'll be back," Houston said. "We'll see if the chips work out, and I'll be here. That's out of my control. We'll see what they do. I'd like to be back here."

The Ravens still have about $10M in cap space. If they decide to try and squeeze whatever ball is left in Houston, he could certainly help push for a Super Bowl in 2023.
