Jadeveon Clowney turned down offer from Seahawks in free agency

We're now into June and Jadeveon Clowney still hasn't chosen an NFL team to play for in 2020. There's surely not a lack of interest in the pass rusher, but his price tag is causing organizations to play the waiting game.

Clowney entered free agency searching for a $20 million per year deal, and while many teams wrote off the 27-year-old because of that, some tried to negotiate for a lower salary. He has since lowered his asking price to $17 million, but noted he's in no rush to sign a deal.

The Seattle Seahawks, who Clowney was traded to for the 2019 campaign, reportedly offered the three-time Pro Bowler a one-year, $15 million deal, according to Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio . Clowney has yet to make a decision, and Florio reports that the Seahawks have been led to believe the Cleveland Browns offered him $18 million.

Despite the generous offer from the Browns, it's been reported that Clowney doesn't want to play for Cleveland going forward, so he may end up returning to Seattle after all. However, the Tennessee Titans still remain in play for Clowney despite waiting out offers from other organizations willing to throw money at the defender.

Many teams are playing the waiting game as Clowney has suffered multiple injuries throughout his career, including multiple knee, back and elbow injuries. His injury probability, according to sportsinjurypredictor.com, is at 55.5 percent for the 2020 campaign, so a lot of organizations aren't willing to take the risk and pay a high price for Clowney.

There's no telling where Clowney may land as of early June, but whoever signs him will have to shell out the dough to entice him.
