Jaguars made unique NFL history in division-clinching comeback win over Titans

The Jacksonville Jaguars accomplished the impossible on Saturday, going from worst to first after defeating the Tennessee Titans, 20-16, to clinch the AFC South title with a 9-8 record.

Jacksonville pulled off the feat with a come-from-behind effort fit for the NFL record books. According to ESPN Stats and Info, the Jaguars are the first team since the 2000 Carolina Panthers to pull off a fourth-quarter comeback without registering a first down in the final stanza.

Trailing the Titans 16-10 after three quarters, the Jaguars outscored Tennessee 10-0 in the fourth, with all of its points coming off of turnovers.

With 53 seconds left in the third quarter, Jaguars' Tyson Campbell intercepted Titans' quarterback Joshua Dobbs, leading to a Riley Patterson 36-yard field goal four plays later, only 11 seconds into the fourth.

Four possession later, the Jags' defense came up big yet again. This time, Rayshawn Jenkins strip-sacked Dobbs, and Josh Allen recovered the fumble, rumbling 37 yards for a scoop and score touchdown to give Jacksonville its first lead of the game with 2:51 remaining.

The Jaguars head back to the postseason for the first time since 2017 when they finished 10-6 and won the AFC South.

Per ESPN Stats and Info, the Jaguars are only the second team in NFL history to start 3-7 and still qualify for the postseason, joining the 2020 Washington Commanders.
