Jaguars' Marvin Jones Jr. on exchange with Urban Meyer: 'We handled it like grown men'

Before the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars fell to 2-11 on the season under first-year head coach Urban Meyer via this past Sunday's 20-0 loss to the Tennessee Titans, a report surfaced claiming, among other things, that Jacksonville wide receiver Marvin Jones Jr. left the facility for a time following an alleged argument with Meyer.

The Jaguars' leading player at the position spoke with reporters about that story on Wednesday.

"I would just say this: There was something that was brought to my attention I didn't like too well," Jones explained, per Chase Goodbread of the NFL's website. "I approached him about it, and we talked. And we handled it like grown men. That's all I have to say about that."

Since the weekend, it's been suggested Meyer could lose his job following this Sunday's matchup against the 2-11 Houston Texans. Jacksonville fell to Houston 37-21 in the season opener back on Sept. 12.

As noted by ESPN stats, Jones leads a woeful Jacksonville offense with 54 receptions, 89 targets, 610 receiving yards, and three touchdown catches.

"We have a lot of conversations, me and (Meyer) about this team, I'm the old head, I'm the voice of the locker room," Jones added during his comments.
