Jaguars place DE/LB Josh Allen on COVID-19 list

The Jacksonville Jaguars will be without one of their key pass rushers for at least Monday's preseason game against the New Orleans Saints.

The team announced outside linebacker Josh Allen has been placed on the COVID-19 list. It's unclear if he tested positive for the virus or was put on the list based on contact tracing.

Allen missed the last six games of the 2020 season with a knee injury that landed him on injured reserve. In eight games last season, he recorded 2.5 sacks, 13 tackles, two tackles for a loss and 11 quarterback hits.

In 2019, the 24-year-old earned a Pro Bowl berth as a rookie after recording 10.5 sacks, 44 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 23 quarterback hits, and two forced fumbles.

The Jaguars selected Allen seventh overall in the 2019 NFL Draft.
