The Jacksonville Jaguars are taking the small, but necessary, steps toward getting back to the playoffs.

As the Jaguars prepare for free agency and the draft, one of those moves that had to be made took place today, with the Jaguars officially signing 14 players to reserve/futures contracts.

A Reserve/Futures contract lets a team claim the rights to a player as they make up the 90-man roster heading into OTAs and training camp. These deals are usually around the minimum salary commensurate with the player's experience and are not guaranteed.

With that in mind, here are the 14 players the Jaguars signed to a deal to keep around for the offseason and training camp.

  • OL Chandler Brewer
  • DB Tevaughn Campbell
  • OLB D.J. Coleman
  • DL De'Shaan Dixon
  • DB Erick Hallett II
  • LB Dequan Jackson
  • DB Amani Oruwariye
  • DL Esezi Otomewo
  • DB Ayo Oyelola
  • K Riley Patterson
  • TE Josh Pederson
  • OL Keaton Sutherland
  • OL Darryl Williams
  • WR Seth Williams

The biggest names on this list include a handful of veterans who have played regular-season games for the Jaguars before, ranging from Chandler Brewer to Tevaughn Campbell to De'Shaan Dixon.

There is also the inclusion of tight end Josh Pederson, the son of head coach Doug Pederson. Pederson spent last year on the practice squad but did appear in a handful of games when Brenton Strange was injured.

The deals also mark the return of former Jaguars kicker Riley Patterson, who was traded to the Detroit Lions last offseason after the Jaguars signed Brandon McManus. McManus is set to be a free-agent in March.

The lone draft pick on the list is Erick Hallett, who the Jaguars took in the sixth-round a year ago before he was placed on the practice squad for the duration of the 2023 season.
