The Jacksonville Jaguars announced the signing of former Los Angeles Rams offensive lineman Chandler Brewer. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

The Rams originally signed Brewer as an undrafted free agent out of Middle Tennessee State University in 2019. He appeared in seven games that year but did not make any starts.

Brewer missed all of 2020 after opting out due to coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns. He then spent the entire 2021 season on the Rams practice squad.

Brewer played in six games this past season, four of which were starts. He was sidelined for a significant part of the year after sustaining a grade 3 MCL tear and undergoing surgery.

Brewer was set to be a restricted free agent this offseason, but the Rams did not tender him a contract, and thus became an unrestricted free agent.

Brewer is the second Rams offensive lineman to sign with a different team as David Edwards joined the Buffalo Bills on a one-year contract. L.A. did re-sign a key starter in Coleman Shelton to a two-year deal, but their depth undoubtedly has taken a hit.

Bobby Wagner expected lone season with Rams to go differently

After going just 5-12 and missing the playoffs one season after winning the Super Bowl, the Rams roster has undergone significant changes this season, with Bobby Wagner among the many cap casualties.

Wagner and the Rams mutually agreed to part ways in February, and he recently returned to the Seattle Seahawks on a one-year contract. The seven-time Pro Bowler admitted his only season with L.A. didn’t go as planned, but appreciated being part of the organization.
