Jaguars sign record-setting CFL quarterback Nathan Rourke

While the Jacksonville Jaguars seem set at quarterback for the foreseeable future, it hasn't stopped the team from adding talent to the position.

On Sunday, the Jaguars came to terms with exciting young CFL quarterback Nathan Rourke

Rourke announced his decision to sign with the Jaguars via social media.

"Ultimately, my decision came down to my commitment to the pursuit of the dream I first had as a youngster watching Brett Favre win Super Bowls on NFL Films," Rourke's statement read. "I am excited to announce that the realization of that dream starts today."

Last season with the BC Lions, the 24-year-old earned the CFL's Most Outstanding Canadian award, setting the league record with a 78.7 completion percentage while finishing with a passer rating of 123.6, the second-highest in CFL history.

In 10 starts, Rourke threw for 3,349 yards with 25 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

A star with the Ohio Bobcats, Rourke finished his collegiate career ranked second in school history in passing yards (7,457) and touchdown passes (60).

He also equaled Kareem Wilson for the most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback in Ohio history, with 49.

Rourke has been on the NFL radar this season. In December, Rourke worked out for the Minnesota Vikings and had past visits with the Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars, Las Vegas Raiders, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Rourke will compete for the Jaguars' backup quarterback role behind starter Trevor Lawrence.
