Jaguars teammate doesn't think anybody can guard Calvin Ridley

Expectations are sky high for the Jacksonville Jaguars this season. Not only do they boast one of the league's best young quarterbacks in Trevor Lawrence, but they are also coming off an AFC South championship and are entering 2023 as the odds on favorites to win the division again.

They also have a new big-play wide receiver joining the team in Calvin Ridley.

And his new teammates are already singing his praises, with one of them going as far to say that nobody in the NFL will be able to guard him.

That is what fellow wide receiver Jamal Agnew recently told talkSPORT

"Just the way he moves, you can see. His route running, he can run, catch anything you throw to him, he's just different, man," Agnew said. "You just watch him out there, he's a mismatch nightmare. In my opinion I don't think anybody can guard him in the league."

The Jaguars acquired Ridley at the NFL trade deadline a year ago for a couple of draft picks while he was serving a year-long suspension for violating the league's gambling policy.

It has the chance to be a steal for the Jaguars, as Ridley was rapidly developing into one of the league's best wide receivers prior to his suspension.

In 49 career games Ridley has caught 248 passes for 3,342 yards and 28 touchdowns.

He joins a Jaguars offense that is already swimming in young talent and could be a big piece to bring it all together.

Given how down the rest of the AFC South is this season it would be pretty significant disappointment if the Jaguars did not repeat as division champions.
