The Jacksonville Jaguars are planning to activate wide receiver Christian Kirk for the team’s season finale against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Kirk underwent core surgery last month and was placed on the injured reserve list. Rapoport adds that he is listed as questionable and will be a game-time decision this weekend.

In 12 games this season, Kirk has logged 57 catches for 787 yards and three touchdowns.

Kirk is in his second year with the Jaguars after signing with the club in March 2022. He had the best season of his career in his debut campaign with the team, hauling in 84 receptions for 1,108 yards and eight scores.

The 27-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Texas A&M, was originally selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Kirk had a solid season in his rookie year, snaring 43 balls for 590 yards while reaching the end zone three times in 12 games. The following season, he showed some progression, registering 68 catches for 709 yards and three touchdowns. Then, after taking a bit of a step back in 2020 after finishing with 48 grabs for 621 yards and six scores, Kirk had a hit of a breakout campaign in 2021, totaling 77 receptions for 982 yards and five touchdowns.

The Scottsdale, Az. native didn’t truly hit his stride until he arrived in Jacksonville and was on pace for another terrific season this year before having to undergo surgery.

Perhaps the Jags will have him back on the field this Sunday.

The Jaguars are 9-7 and can win the AFC South division title with a win over the Titans. If they lose, they will require a whole lot of help to even qualify for the playoffs.

Jacksonville is aiming to make back-to-back postseason appearances for the first time since the 1999-00 campaign.
