Jacksonville Jaguars receiver Zay Jones was arrested Monday on a misdemeanor domestic battery charge, according to Michael DiRocco of ESPN.

Jones was arrested by the Jacksonville Sherrif’s Office on a first-degree misdemeanor charge of domestic battery causing bodily harm. He was booked into the Duval County Jail at 6:03 p.m. ET. His first court appearance is scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday.

The Jaguars released the following statement on his arrest:

“We are aware of the situation and are in the midst of gathering information,” the statement read. “We will have no further comment at this time.”

Jones, 28, has suited up in three games this season, hauling in eight receptions for 78 yards and two touchdowns. He has missed six games, including the last four, with a knee injury. The seven-year veteran is coming off his best season to date, a season in which he caught a career-high 82 passes for 823 yards and five scores.

Head coach Doug Pederson hasn’t ruled out an injured reserve stint for Jones.

“We just got to see, we’re getting close but that’s something that we’ll evaluate if it looks like it’s anything further than or any longer than what it already is,” Pederson said last Monday.

Pederson added: “Zay is just going to be day-to-day, got a little workout in today, feeling a little bit better, but we’ll just monitor him day-by-day. He’s getting better.”
