Eagles DT Jalen Carter was added to the injury report on Thursday with an apparent ankle injury and was subsequently held out of practice. This does come as a slight surprise given he was a full participant yesterday, so could well have tweaked something during the day.

The Eagles already had to go a week without both Fletcher Cox and Marlon Tuipolotu and while Cox did return to practice today, losing another defensive tackle would be a real blow, especially one as dominant as Carter, who has 3.5 sacks already in what has been an explosive rookie season.

Fletcher Cox returned to practice in a full capacity, which means he should be good to go this weekend, while Tuipolotu’s status was upgraded to limited.

It’s certainly something to keep an eye on and hopefully the coaching staff will expand on this between now and Sunday. It’s likely he’s being held out due to caution rather than a serious injury. If it was genuinely concerning in the long-term, we’d have heard about it by now…

Darius Slay missed practice for a second straight day after picking up a knee injury in the loss against the Rams. The Eagles are already down one starting corner and have only just filled the void. Losing Slay would mean more reps for players like Josh Jobe and Eli Ricks, and the good news is that the Jets should be a lot less challenging than the Rams. However, it’s still not ideal.

Justin Evans was another player who missed practice for a second consecutive day, but the good news is that Sydney Brown was a limited participant. There’s a good chance that the Illinois rookie will be healthy enough to play on Sunday.

Nakobe Dean is the biggest name to be listed as limited after the Eagles activated his 21-day practice window. The second-year linebacker should be on his road back to the starting lineup, with his latest estimated return being the home clash against Dallas.

We’ll have more updates and analysis as and when the injury reports are released.
