Jalen Hurts pens concerned letter to Washington Football Team, NFL after stands collapse

Jalen Hurts wasn't injured by the avalanche of fans who tumbled out of the stands and nearly landed on top of the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback as he walked into the tunnel at FedEx Field. Still, he made it clear that he was concerned about the "near-tragic incident" in a letter written to the Washington Football Team and NFL.

"As you are aware, many individuals, including fans, media personnel, and myself, were placed in a dangerous situation when portions of the FedEx Field tunnel collapsed," the letter reads, via Nicki Jhabvala of the Washington Post. "Although I was able to prevent the barrier from crashing onto me, that was not the same for others who could be suffering from lingering injuries."

In a statement released Sunday night, the Washington Football Team said the group of fans who fell from the stands were "offered onsite medical evaluation and left the stadium of their own accord." Four of those fans spoke to ESPN a day later and refuted that claim, with two of them saying the only thing they were told was to "get the 'F' off the field."
