Jalen Ramsey reveals sky-high expectations with Dolphins

Star cornerback Jalen Ramsey was officially introduced to Miami Dolphins media members on Thursday, four days after being acquired in a trade with the Los Angeles Rams.

During his presser, the six-time Pro Bowler revealed his sky-high expectations for himself and his new team in 2023.

With his half-dozen Pro Bowl nods, three First-Team All-Pro honors and one Super Bowl title, Ramsey is likely headed for eventual enshrinement into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. As far as whether the 28-year-old is past his prime, some of that chatter may stem from how brutal of a 2022 campaign the Rams had.

Based on some of his individual numbers though, it still looks like Ramsey has plenty left in the tank.

The 2016 fifth overall pick is coming off of a season where he set career highs in combined tackles (88), solo tackles (64), passes defended (18) and sacks (2.0) in 17 games, while also matching his career-best marks in interceptions (four) and forced fumbles (two). Ramsey's 18 passes defended were second-most in the NFL, trailing only Defensive Rookie of the Year Ahmad "Sauce" Gardner (20).

He also played a career-high 1,077 defensive snaps (99%), while seeing 126 special teams snaps as well.

With Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle leading one of the most dangerous aerial attacks in the NFL and Howard and Ramsey shoring up a shutdown secondary, Miami could certainly build on last season's nine-win season and playoff appearance. Dolphins fans will cross their fingers this summer that quarterback Tua Tagovailoa can stay healthy enough to bring them back to the postseason in 2023.
