Jalen Ramsey upset Rams didn't make bigger push for star WR Julio Jones

The Los Angeles Rams were in on Julio Jones for a short period of time before he was traded to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

Tennessee gave up a 2022 second-round pick and a 2023 fourth-round pick to acquire Jones, and Jalen Ramsey is confused as to why the Rams couldn't pay that price to bring in one of the NFL's most talented receivers.

It would've been difficult for L.A. to acquire Jones. First, the Rams don't have a first-round pick until 2024, and it wouldn't be wise to part ways with a second-rounder because of that. Second, the team would've had to figure out how to absorb Jones' contract.

The Rams also have several high-priced players, including Ramsey, Aaron Donald, Matthew Stafford, Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp. It wouldn't have made sense to take on Jones, who is owed $15.3 million in 2021.

L.A.'s big move of the offseason was trading Jared Goff for Stafford. The Rams are hoping that'll be enough to propel them back into Super Bowl contention.
