Jameis Winston has surprising take on being replaced by Tom Brady

Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston is finally speaking out about being replaced by Tom Brady, and he has an interesting take on the situation.

"For you to get replaced by Tom Brady in a city that you love so much, I guess that's kudos to me," Winston said as transcribed by TMZ Sports. "One thing you can learn about me is my faith. I have tremendous faith in the Lord ... and one thing about Tom Brady is it's understood that he is the G.O.A.T."

The 26-year-old had a rather unsteady five-year career with the Buccaneers. He went 28-42 with a 61.3 completion percentage, 19,737 yards, 121 touchdowns and 88 interceptions.

His final year with the organization in 2019 was abysmal, which led to Bruce Arians seeking out his replacement. Winston went 7-9 last season with 33 touchdowns and a whopping 30 interceptions.

He struggled to find success in a Tampa Bay offense that consisted of O.J. Howard, Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. With Brady set to take over, he'll allow those players to take the next steps in their careers.

As for Winston, at this point he may not find another starting gig in the NFL with a majority of teams having some sense of what they'll do going forward.
