Cleveland Browns punter Jamie Gillan is famous for his sense of humor, hair, and physique.

The latter was shown off in a recent social media post featuring Gillan aka @ScottishHammer7.

Gillan himself posted a funny comment to this Tweet.

He wrote:

“That’s a lot of hammer lytes.. #12ouncecurls @SibRevBrew”

Perhaps he was getting the party started early as Gillan celebrated his 24th birthday on July 4.

What Gillan Has Been Up To

More likely, Gillan was doing more PR work for his latest project, a joint effort with Sibling Revelry brewery.

Gillan is offering his name and personality to a local family-owned brewery called Sibling Revelry.

Sibling Revelry added a signature brew called Hammer Lyte in Gillan’s honor; the brewery has 22 crafted varieties available in the Cleveland area.

What Else Is Gillan Doing?

He is not all fun and games.

Gillan worked with kids at a youth football camp back in the spring.

Kids (and adults) are drawn to him.

His story is not typical; he played rugby in Scotland before moving to Maryland with his parents and taking up football in high school.

Gillan In 2021

Gillan enters the final year of his contract and is yet another Browns player who could be a free agent at the end of the 2021 season.

Arguably, he was less successful in 2020 averaging 44 yards per punt.

The Browns special teams is not as frequently discussed, but it needs to improve in 2021 just like the defense does.

Longer punts, trapping opponents deep in their own territory, is a winning strategy.

Given Gillan’s leg strength, there is no doubt he can do it.

Another option is fake punts which are not frequently attempted by the Browns.

Better special teams play will take the pressure off the offense and defense and can make a difference between winning and losing games.
