The New Orleans Saints barely missed the 2021 NFL playoffs with a 9-8 record.

However, their number of victories is impressive given that they averaged a league-worst 187.4 passing yards per game.

With All-Pro wideout Michael Thomas sidelined by injury, quarterback Jameis Winston had Marquez Callaway, Deonte Harty, and Alvin Kamara as his top receivers.

But optimism regarding the Saints’ 2022 campaign is sky-high after boosting their receiving corps.

Thomas will finally be healthy and rookie Chris Olave has the ability to leave defenders behind.

Likewise, signing a one-year deal with the Saints could revitalize Jarvis Landry‘s career.

For that reason, he has no reservations about sharing to Saints insider Nick Underhill that they will be a problem.

There’s two sides of the potential problem.

If everything falls into plan, the Saints receiving corps will be a nightmare for opposing defenses.

Aside from having their hands full on Thomas, defensive backs should also put a body on a Pro Bowl receiver in Landry and a promising talent in Olave.

On the flip side, New Orleans could be bearing problems if Thomas isn’t 100 percent healthy and Olave didn’t live up to the hype.

Landry must also bounce back from his dwindling production over the last three seasons.

Will Landry Regain His Old Form?

In 2019, the former LSU standout had 1,174 receiving yards and six touchdowns with the Cleveland Browns.

Unfortunately, his totals went down from 840 in 2020 to 570 in 2021.

He also had five combined touchdown catches in the last two seasons.

Landry also missed five games in his last tour of duty with the Browns due to a knee sprain.

Sadly, the team released him last March and had to wait to sign a contract.

Joining the Saints will be his chance to prove that he can still deliver on the field.

Doing so will earn him another multi-year contract.
