Jason Kelce is an NFL center no more. The Philadelphia Eagles veteran called time on his illustrious 13-year NFL career this week as he now looks forward to the next chapter in his life.

Kelce had been a beacon of consistency for the Eagles ever since he stepped foot in Philadelphia and with the center getting on in age, naturally, a retirement decision was coming.

And as it turns out, the 36-year-old had been contemplating retirement for years according to his wife, Kylie.

"I've heard multiple versions over the last four years," Kylie said via NBC Sports Philadelphia said. "This was a completely different version. I think every year he sort of started from scratch as to what was sitting on the surface. But when he said that he was contemplating retirement for years, he means for years."

So now, the larger-than-life character that is Jason Kelce will be looking forward to what the next chapter of his life looks like.

One would imagine that the New Heights podcast he has with his brother Travis will be front of mind as the pair have built up a substantial following over the last 12 months.

Jason could also take in some Chiefs games as well to see Travis play as some thought he would retire at the end of the year, but the future Hall of Famer is set to play on in 2024 as the Chiefs chase a three-peat.

But for Jason Kelce, as the saying goes, your mind goes before your body and going by Kelly's comments, Jason had thought about retirement for years, and when you start thinking retirement, you're halfway to calling it a day.

Kelce was one of the best to ever do it and now he will focus on what the next big thing is in his life will be.
