Jayden Reed will head to Packers training camp with his first NFL contract. Green Bay selected the former Michigan State star in the second round.

David Canter, Reed’s agent, confirmed the signing in a Wednesday night post on Twitter. He also offered his congratulations to Reed. It is an exciting time, a career memory, to sign your first NFL deal.

Jayden Reed deal is worth $7.18 million

So how much is Jayden Reed’s deal worth? Remember, it’s all about slotting. The Packers landed Reed with the 50th pick. According to Over the Cap, Reed’s deal is a four-year contract worth $7.18 million. It includes a signing bonus of $2.22 million.

Technically, Packers rookies report for training camp, Friday. But all they’re doing to checking in at team headquarters at Lambeau Field. That’s also the site of preseason camp. Veterans report, Tuesday. First full practice is next Wednesday. They team does get to leave Green Bay. The Packers lone road exhibition game is against the Bengals at Paycor Stadium.

Luke Musgrave, fellow second rounder, also agreed to rookie deal

Hours before Jayden Reed signed, the Packers and tight end Luke Musgrave also agreed to contract , terms. Green Bay selected Musgrave, the former Oregon State standout, with the 42nd pick in the second round. According to Over the Cap, Musgrave’s deal is worth about $8.47 million for four years. That includes a signing bonus of $3.16 million.

Green Bay went with defense in the first round, picking linebacker Lukas Van Ness. But the second round was to help Jordan Love , the quarterback who gets the snaps now that Aaron Rodgers has left for the Jets.
