The Dallas Cowboys have been consistently tied to running back Jonathon Brooks during the draft process, with ESPN's Adam Schefter going as far as claiming it would be a surprise if the Texas Longhorns prospect makes it past 56th overall, the Cowboys' second-round pick.

During the team's press conference following the selection of Tyler Guyton, Jerry Jones did absolutely nothing to slow down the rumors.

Asked about his thoughts on Brooks' health as he rehabs from a torn ACL he suffered in November (and surgery from the Cowboys' very own doctor), Jones ignored the knee talk and instead raved about the prospect.

“In my 30 years I thought it was the best interview that I ever interviewed with a player," Jones told reporters. "He’s outstanding. He's just outstanding. And he’s a great football player. We got him high, high, high. And he’s a good player.”

Jones' comment was so notable that laughter broke out in the press room while de-facto draft architect Will McClay let out a quiet laugh himself.

When Jones reiterated moments later Brooks was a "good, good player," McClay hilariously intervened: "And one of several great players that are still left in this draft."

While there were laughs at the moment, there's some real weight to their obvious stance on Brooks. NFL Network's insider Jane Slater reported pre-draft that picking Brooks after hypothetically trading down from 24th was a possibility and noted concern for the Philadelphia Eagles cutting in line and picking Brooks at 53rd.

We're only hours away from finding out what the Cowboys are thinking once they get on the clock. But evidence strongly suggests Brooks is the likeliest choice.
