Jerry Jones is saying “farewell” to Dan Snyder and saying “welcome” to Josh Harris as only he can.

What does Jones say now that he and the NFL owners have voted in Harris and his $6.05 billion bid to purchase the Washington Commanders?

He’s playfully talking trash, the Dallas Cowboys owner promising his team will administer “capital punishment” when it opposes the Commanders

And what does he say about the forever goodbye forever to Snyder’s “toxic” reign?

"A great day for the NFL," said Jones via NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

In the last year, in addition to Snyder being accused of sexual misdeeds in the workplace and financial misfeasance involving the other owners, Snyder allegedly claimed he had "dirt" on Jones - an effort to gain some sort of bargaining leverage with his partners who’d moved on him to the point Jones was conceding publicly that Snyder was "not the most beloved guy around.”

It was clear from there that Jones’ long-standing involvement in mentoring Snyder was over.

Now along comes Harris, who fired a fun shot at the Cowboys by insisting that once upon a time the “Redskins,” not the Cowboys, we’re the NFL’s premier team.

Supporters of “America’s Team” can dispute that. But this much is true: All involved would like to see Jones and Harris’ competitive jousting lead to an old-school return of the passionate Washington vs. Dallas rivalry.
