The New York Jets have acquired edge rusher Haason Reddick in a blockbuster trade with the Philadelphia Eagles, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

The Jets will be sending a 2026 conditional third-round draft pick to the Eagles in exchange for Reddick. The pick becomes a second-rounder if Reddick plays in 67.5 percent of defensive snaps next season and reaches double-digit sacks.

Reddick is coming off of a 2023 campaign in which he played 17 games and registered 38 tackles and 11 sacks en route to his second straight Pro Bowl appearance.

However, after the season was over, Reddick reportedly requested a trade, as he was unhappy with the way things unfolded in Philadelphia down the stretch.

Philly lost five of its last six games to end the regular season and was then routed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs.

Reddick, who played his collegiate football at Temple, was originally selected by the Arizona Cardinals with the 13th overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft.

The 29-year-old was a very late bloomer.

After amassing a grand total of 7.5 sacks over his first three seasons, Reddick finally broke out in 2020, recording 63 tackles, 12.5 sacks and six forced fumbles.

That ensuing offseason, Reddick signed a one-year deal with the Carolina Panthers, where he posted 68 tackles and 11 sacks.

He then went on to sign with the Eagles, and in his debut campaign in Philadelphia, Reddick enjoyed his best season to date, racking up 49 tackles, 16 sacks, five forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries, making his first trip to the Pro Bowl in the process. He also finished fourth in Defensive Player of the Year voting.

Reddick represents a massive addition for the Jets and will replace Bryce Huff, who ironically departed for the Eagles in free agency earlier this month. The signing of Huff actually made Reddick expendable for Philadelphia.
