Jets activate RB Tevin Coleman from non-football injury list
On Wednesday, the New York Jets activated veteran running back Tevin Coleman from the non-football injury list.
The Jets placed Coleman on the NFI on July 26 with an illness.
The 29-year-old played 11 games for the Jets last season, starting four. Coleman was second on the team in rushing with 356 yards off 84 carriers, finishing behind only rookie tailback Michael Carter (639).
Coleman signed with the Jets as a free agent last offseason after spending the previous two years with the San Francisco 49ers.
The Atlanta Falcons selected Coleman in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft out of Indiana.
Coleman spent four seasons in Atlanta, with his best year coming in 2016 when he rushed for 520 yards and eight touchdowns while adding 31 catches for 421 yards and three receiving touchdowns.
A seven-year veteran, Coleman has played for the Falcons, 49ers, and Jets, compiling 3,293 yards and 24 touchdowns on the ground, with 128 catches for 1,274 yards and 12 touchdowns through the air.
The Jets also activated rookie tight end Jeremy Ruckert on Wednesday. A third-round pick by New York in April's draft out of Ohio State, Ruckert had been dealing with a foot injury. The 21-year-old posted 54 catches for 615 yards and 12 touchdowns over 26 career games with the Buckeyes from 2018 to 2021.
