The Cleveland Browns are determined to heat up en route to a postseason berth. Joe Flacco has been insanely good which would put Robert Saleh and the New York Jets in a tough situation. But, they will be shorthanded as Allen Lazard has an illness that will sideline him for this game. A decision has to be made and it involves Randall Cobb.

Randall Cobb will be stepping up for the Jets after Allen Lazard’s sickness, per Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network.

The Jets’ weapon has been able to be a quality substitute for Robert Saleh’s squad. Statistics of 35 receiving yards along with a touchdown do not seem attractive. However, he has shown the ability to pop off for his squad at times. Having caught only four of 16 targets leaves a lot to be desired as well but this will be his opportunity to prove himself for the Jets.

This will be a crucial change in this matchup against Joe Flacco’s Browns. It was once thought that Amari Cooper would be able to play but he would not be ready to go. If any other receiver blazes up just like he did in the previous week, the Jets would need a stable weapon to outgun the opposing offense.

Nine games with those small numbers was a long time for Cobb. There will be other opportunities for him to thrive in this system but this seems to be the perfect situation for him to do so. Will he be able to take advantage and deliver for the Jets?
