Jets DE Carl Lawson to undergo MRI after getting carted off field, season in jeopardy

The New York Jets had big plans for Carl Lawson when they signed him to a four-year, $45 million contract this offseason. But those plans now appear to be in jeopardy.

Multiple sources reported Thursday the 26-year-old defensive end was injured during a joint practice with the Green Bay Packers and had to be carted off of the field.

According to reports, bringing the cart out wasn't just a precautionary measure.

As ProFootballTalk points out, Lawson has been living up to expectations and impressing during training camp. Losing the Auburn product for an extended period of time would be a major blow to New York's defense.
