Would the Jets make a run at Deebo Samuel if the 49ers made him available? Darren Yamashita-USA TODAY Sports

Jets GM Joe Douglas on Deebo Samuel rumors: 'If the right opportunity presents itself, we are going to be aggressive'

The Kansas City Chiefs may be out on the brand-new Deebo Samuel sweepstakes, but the New York Jets may not be.

Jets general manager Joe Douglas addressed the recent trade rumors on Thursday.

On Wednesday, the San Francisco 49ers wide receiver turned heads with his reported trade request out of the Bay Area. The 2021 Pro Bowler and First-Team All-Pro later indicated that there was more to the story, though, and the Niners have indicated that they're not interested in moving the 26-year-old.

Samuel led the NFL in yards per reception (18.2) in 2021, while recording 1,770 yards from scrimmage and 14 touchdowns on 136 touches.
