Jets have 'permanently benched' QB Zach Wilson for season
Don't expect Zach Wilson to throw another pass for the New York Jets this season.
Heck, New York's 2021 No. 2 overall pick may not even play another down for the Jets ever, but that's a different story for a different time.
For right now, the news is that Wilson will be inactive for the 7-8 Jets' Sunday afternoon clash on the road against the 7-8 Seattle Seahawks.
Mike White is going to be the starter for New York after he was medically cleared to play after a rib injury kept him out for the past two games.
As long as he stays healthy, head coach Robert Saleh says he'll be the starter for the rest of this season.
Veteran Joe Flacco will be White's backup, while Wilson won't even suit up.
As one NFL personality put it, the former No. 2 overall pick has been "permanently benched" by New York.
Saleh did tell the media that he believes Wilson still has a future with the Jets, but his activities as head coach may suggest otherwise.
Wilson has been benched twice now in the last six weeks and he was replaced last weekend in a 19-3 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars after completing just 9-of-18 passes for 92 yards and an interception with a QBR of 5.1
