Jets HC Robert Saleh: WR Denzel Mims 'going to get some opportunities' vs. Titans

New York Jets wide receiver Denzel Mims will be active for Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans, head coach Robert Saleh announced Friday, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Mims has appeared in just one game this season, catching one pass for 40 yards in a Week 1 loss to the Carolina Panthers. He has been inactive since.

The 2020 second-round pick is getting playing time because of injuries to Elijah Moore (concussion) and Jamison Crowder (groin). The Jets also don't have a whole lot of receiving options behind Corey Davis and Braxton Berrios.

Mims hasn't been used a whole lot by the Jets since being drafted. Last season, he appeared in nine games, catching 23 passes for 357 yards on 44 targets.

Despite his limited usage, the Jets are still reportedly declining trade calls for the receiver, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo (h/t Sports Illustrated).

If he continues to be a nonfactor for New York, maybe the Jets will consider trading him in the coming weeks. For now, it certainly seems they're comfortable using him in a limited fashion.
