Jets QB Aaron Rodgers buys massive New Jersey mansion

Aaron Rodgers is certainly hoping to get his money's worth in his new neighborhood. The New York Jets quarterback recently purchased a $9.5 million mansion in Montclair, N.J., a short drive from where the team plays at MetLife Stadium in the Meadowlands.

The Daily Mail detailed all of the amenities of his new digs, including a count of eight bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, which could easily accommodate all of the guests and indoor darkness retreats to his heart's content. The mansion is of new construction and by all accounts won't fall apart like "The Money Pit."

Located in the Watchung Mountains in northern New Jersey, Montclair is known for having great views of both the Bronx and Manhattan, boroughs of New York City, as well as the Hudson River. It's also known as both the birthplace and residence of a who's who of entertainers, journalists and athletes. (It's a list that could have been its own Wikipedia page.)

Making such a purchase may indicate that Rodgers doesn't plan a short stay with the Jets, physical health willing. After building a Hall of Fame resume over 18 years with the Green Bay Packers, Rodgers forced his way to the Jets with a massive deal that sent three 2023 draft picks and a conditional 2024 pick to the Pack for his services with Gang Green.

As the Packers rebuild around former understudy Jordan Love, New York has been trying to temper Super Bowl expectations to the point that the team was open about not feeding the hype machine as this summer's team for HBO "Hard Knocks." (The NFL, of course, had other ideas and forced the Jets to bring the show to their training camp.)

The New York Post reported that Rodgers has five other properties across the country, including his previous home in Wisconsin and in his hometown of Chico, Calif.
