Jets QB Zach Wilson gifts offensive line Christmas surprises

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson didn't let getting benched this season dampen his holiday spirit.

He's likely going to curry favor with his Jets offensive linemen by gifting them all motorized scooters for Christmas.

After getting sidelined earlier in the season, Wilson recently got his starting job back after quarterback Mike White sustained an injury.

Wilson reportedly ruffled some of his teammates' feathers for his lack of accountability during games in which he wasn't playing good football before he was benched.

The 2021 first-round pick has failed to live up to the hype he had coming out of BYU. It puts the Jets in a tricky spot evaluating the quarterback spot for 2023.

Wilson performed admirably during New York's 20-17 loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday, though, throwing for 317 yards, two touchdowns and a pick. However, he only completed 51.4 percent of his passes.

The 7-7 Jets are going to need even more from Wilson as the season ends and New York pushes for a wild-card spot in a treacherous AFC.

If Wilson can't show discernible improvements as the season winds down, no amount of motorized scooters will keep his team from trying to find a more long-term replacement this offseason.

Until then, his charitable gesture for his blockers should help his standing in the Jets locker room.
