Jets QB Zach Wilson throws INTs on first two pass attempts

New York Jets rookie quarterback Zach Wilson had an awful first half against the New England Patriots on Sunday.

Wilson tossed two interceptions on his first two passes of the game and had three total interceptions in the first half. According to NFL Research, the BYU product is the first player since at least 1991 to throw interceptions on his first two pass attempts in a game. 

Wilson is also the first player since 1991 to toss three interceptions on his first five pass attempts in a game. 

The 22-year-old completed just 3-of-7 passes in the first half for 45 yards. New York failed to score a touchdown in the first half, and New England went into halftime up 13-3. 

Sunday's game marked the second consecutive slow start from Wilson. In New York's Week 1 loss to the Carolina Panthers, the second overall pick completed just 6-of-16 passes for 84 yards and an interception.

At the time of this writing, Wilson threw another interception against New England in the second half for his fourth of the game. NFL Research will likely have more numbers on Wilson's awful afternoon soon.
