It's taken just three days but the New York Jets have moved swiftly to address the offensive line concerns that held the team back in 2023.

New York agreed to a trade for right tackle Morgan Moses with the Baltimore Ravens. Baltimore and New York are swapping fourth-round picks with an additional sixth-rounder going to the Ravens. Adam Schefter of ESPN was the first to report on the trade.

Moses is 33 years old, will count for around $7 million in salary cap space, and is set to enter his 11th NFL season. He played with the Jets during the 2021 season - the first under head coach Robert Saleh before signing a free agent deal with the Ravens during the 2022 offseason.

By trading for Moses, the Jets will look to him to start at right tackle, while fellow Ravens left guard John Simpson was signed by the team to start at left guard.

The only additional need along the starting rotation for New York remains at left tackle. The Jets currently own the 10th overall pick with many draft analysts expecting top left tackle prospects like Olu Fashanu and Joe Alt to be available for the team.

Other additional free agents like David Bakhtiari and interior offensive linemen could help provide New York with the kind of depth needed to survive an entire season.

In 2023, New York went through 13 different offensive linemen and 13 different combinations throughout the 17-game season. With the additions of Moses and Simpson, the Jets hope their recent run of futility along the line ends in 2024.
