J.J. Watt reportedly 'seriously considering' joining Browns

Since it was announced that the Texans and J.J. Watt would be parting ways, everyone has been wondering where the three-time Defensive Player of the Year would end up. Would he team up with his brother in Pittsburgh or head back to Wisconsin to join the Packers?

It's still not clear where Watt will land, but he is reportedly seriously considering joining the Cleveland Browns, as he has been impressed by the team's turnaround under first-year head coach Kevin Stefanski. Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot reported Watt's interest in the Browns, saying that the team has two things Watt is searching for in free agency: "Money and a potential Super Bowl."

The idea of the Browns having Super Bowl potential seemed inconceivable before last season, but the team was able to make the playoffs for the first time in nearly two decades and then managed to beat the Steelers and nearly knock off the Kansas City Chiefs. And having Watt line-up opposite Myles Garrett would make an already-exciting team even better, especially when it comes to rushing the passer.

But the money may be where the Browns have a true edge over most other contenders. While teams like the Steelers are currently projected to be over the cap, the Browns are expected to have around $20 million in cap space for the upcoming season, which means they could potentially afford Watt.

"Watt was due to make $17.5 million in 2021, and will probably be looking for something in that ballpark," Cabot wrote.
