New York Jets fans certainly hope that Joe Douglas‘ draft decisions are better than his jokes.

If being the Jets’ general manager doesn’t work out, Douglas might not be able to fall back on standup comedy if the preview for the upcoming documentary series Flight 2021 is any indication.

The series, produced by the Jets, centers on the team’s offseason activities leading up to draft day and offers a behind-the-scenes look at those fateful hours.

A preview posted by the Jets social team on Sunday, Father’s Day in America, featured Douglas relieving the pre-draft tension by telling, via his own admission, a “corny dad joke.”

“What do you call a pig that does karate?” Douglas asked his staff that was gathered in the New York war room. “Pork chop!”

Douglas’ answer, complete with a punching motion for emphasis, brings only polite laughter but does nothing to deter his enthusiasm.

“You guys got to bring one tomorrow!” he said before settling in for an eventful night.

To his credit, Douglas’ post-joke activities that night were no laughing matter. He used the second overall pick on BYU alum and franchise quarterback Zach Wilson before trading up the draft board to take USC blocker Alijah Vera-Tucker.

While there’s no word as to whether anyone else brought their own dad jokes for day two, Douglas brought in further offensive firepower with the selection of receiver Elijah Moore with the second pick of the second round.

Flight 2021: An Offseason with the New York Jets is set to document one of the most eventful and monumental offseasons in team history. The docuseries will consist of four episodes and premiere tonight at 8 p.m. ET on the Jets’ official website.
