Joe Judge doesn't rule out Daniel Jones for Dolphins game despite strained neck

NFL Media reported Tuesday evening that New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones suffered a strained neck early in this past Sunday's 13-7 win over the Philadelphia Eagles that would sideline him through at least this coming Sunday's road game at the Miami Dolphins.

According to SNY's Ralph Vacchiano , New York head coach Joe Judge told reporters Wednesday he's not ruling Jones out for the Dolphins matchup. He also said that his QB1 is set to practice through Friday.

Jones later spoke with the media and insisted his neck is "getting better every day" and that he's preparing as if he'll get the start in Miami assuming doctors clear him by the first Sunday afternoon of December.

Backup Mike Glennon is the next man up on the depth chart and will take Jones' place in the lineup, if necessary. Glennon filled in when Jones went down with a concussion against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5 and completed 16-of-25 passes for 196 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions.

Additionally, the Giants signed Jake Fromm off the practice squad of the Buffalo Bills and could activate him to serve as Glennon's backup against the Dolphins. Judge remains hopeful Jones hasn't played his last game of the campaign even if the 24-year-old ultimately becomes a spectator for the Miami contest.
