The New York Giants made the first of what could be many personnel changes this week by firing offensive coordinator Jason Garrett.

This move came after the Giants offense flailed in primetime against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday night.

Head coach Joe Judge now finds himself on the hot seat as the 3-7 Giants seek any positives to finish the year.

Remember, there are still seven games to go.

The head coach was discussing the move to fire Garrett when he provided an obvious, but factual quote.

Judge nailed the problem right on the head.

The Giants are indeed not scoring enough points.

Another Ugly Season

The Giants are currently averaging 18.9 points per game after putting up 10 in the loss to the Buccaneers.

Daniel Jones only has nine touchdown passes, compared to seven interceptions, and the team has seven total rushing touchdowns.

Jones is in the spotlight as he is in his third NFL season.

Normally, a former top pick would be thinking about a major extension at this point in time.

Yet Jones is just trying to prove he deserves the starting job.

Garrett could not maximize his play and the Giants are hoping Freddie Kitchens can work some magic via the play-calling to inject some life into this offense.

Let’s not even get started on Saquon Barkley, who is sitting with 220 yards as he battles through injuries in 2021.

Judge’s quote was right on point and the Giants need to start scoring more points immediately if they want to avoid major turnover within the organization.

Jones and Barkley were the core players drafted by GM Dave Gettleman, and firing him could mean both are gone without a second contract.

There is a lot at stake over the next seven games and scoring more points is a great first step toward maintaining job security from the sidelines to the front office.
