Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has achieved feats never seen before in NFL circles, and former professional signal-caller Chris Simms attributes the success to the superstar's rare talent.

Speaking to WHAM's Dan Fetes during NFL Combine Week, Simms, now an analyst for NBC Sports, shared an incredibly high level of praise for Allen, who was drafted by the Bills with the No. 7 overall selection in 2018.

"When you have a quarterback of that talent, right, with Josh Allen, where I don't say this lightly, it is arguably the most talented quarterback in the history of football, the [championship] window is never really closed," said Simms, who spent six seasons in the NFL and had a 7-9 record as a starter.

Allen is coming off a 2023 campaign where he led all NFL players in total yards (4,830) and total touchdowns (44). His 15 TD rushes are the most ever by a quarterback and rank one shy of the Bills' single-season record set by Hall-of-Fame running back OJ Simpson.

In 2022, Allen broke Gold Jacket quarterback Dan Marino's records for touchdowns over a player's first five NFL seasons. The 6-5 physical specimen with uncanny arm strength owns a 63-30 record as an NFL starting quarterback.

The three-time MVP finalist has led the Bills to four consecutive AFC East division titles, but is still chasing that elusive Super Bowl bid. Although the Bills came up short in a home divisional round loss to eventual Super Bowl champion Kansas City, Allen's effort was certainly enough to win on most days. He accounted for three touchdowns and no turnovers in the 27-24 defeat.

"No, it's not closed," said Simms. "Now, how wide open is it? Is it a crack? Is it a big gap? Whatever, okay, that's debatable, sure, but I still think there's a lot of pieces for [the Bills] to be very relevant."
