Josh Gordon could reportedly make Chiefs debut in Week 5 vs. Bills

The Kansas City Chiefs could promote Josh Gordon to the active roster for a Week 5 matchup against the Buffalo Bills, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The veteran wide receiver, who was recently reinstated by the NFL, signed with the Chiefs' practice squad last week. Head coach Andy Reid previously said he wasn't sure when Gordon would be activated.

Gordon has not played an NFL game since 2019, as he was suspended for the entire 2020 campaign. He has struggled to stay on the field since leading the league with 1,646 receiving yards in 2013.

The 30-year-old has been suspended six times for violating the league's substance-abuse policy. He spent time with the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks in 2019 but recorded just 27 catches for 426 yards.

Gordon tweeted Sunday that he's excited for his first game day with the Chiefs, even though he's not suiting up:

In 63 career games, Gordon has 247 catches for 4,252 yards and 20 touchdowns.

The Chiefs enter Week 4 1-2 on the season, with losses to the Los Angeles Chargers and Baltimore Ravens.
