Justin Jefferson to continue doing 'The Griddy' after TDs 'until people get tired of it'
To the rejoice of football fans everywhere, the first full Sunday of NFL action is just hours away.
While there are plenty of intriguing storylines throughout the league for the NFL faithful to sink their teeth into, Vikings standout wide receiver Justin Jefferson put one hot-button issue to rest.
On Friday, Jefferson revealed that his "Griddy" touchdown celebrations would return for the 2022 season.
"I might be adding some stuff to it, but I'm still going to be doing the Griddy," Jefferson told ESPN's Kevin Seifert. "It's still my signature thing, so I might as well keep doing it until people get tired of it."
Jefferson has been doing the dance since college, learning the moves from LSU teammate Ja'Marr Chase who initially got it from friend and Louisiana player Allen Davis.
The dance has recently caught fire, with Jefferson, Chase and others breaking out the move to celebrate on the field. The Griddy even made it into "Madden 23" this season, with an ad featuring none other than Jefferson himself.
Drafted 22nd overall by the Vikings in 2020, Jefferson is entering his third season in the NFL. The 23-year-old finished 2021 with 108 catches for 1,616 yards and 10 touchdowns in 17 regular-season games.
