Justin Timberlake, Timbaland to curate music for 'Monday Night Football'

Mondays nights and football are an iconic duo. The same can be said of Justin Timberlake and Timbaland when they make music together.

Combine the four? Well, you've potentially got magic there.

That's undoubtedly what the bigwigs behind ESPN's "Monday Night Football" were thinking when they hired the duo to curate music for ESPN. The music will run in promotional spots for MNF, during the live telecasts and pre-game shows.

It won't be an every-week thing, but ESPN did get the duo for several big games, including the Week 11 Super Bowl LVII rematch between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kanas City Chiefs, as well as the two Monday night games during the playoffs.

“Football and music go hand-in-hand, like the iconic Timbaland and Justin Timberlake duo, who collaborate on music to near perfection,” ESPN Senior Director of Sports Marketing Curtis Friends said in a statement. “ESPN’s Monday Night Football music curatorship is popular with fans given the access this partnership provides to new and unexpected combinations of music with sport. We’ve had Diplo, DJ Khaled, Drake, and Marshmello and this fifth season, for the first time, we have two curators in Timbaland/JT we know will energize all us fans for this NFL football season.”

Timberlake, formerly of NSYNC, is one of the best-selling music artists of all time. He was world-famous with NSYNC and somehow became even bigger as a solo act. Timbaland is a prolific rapper and producer who has worked on hits with Timberlake in the past, including "SexyBack," "Give it to Me" and "Cry Me a River."
