Kansas City Chiefs fans wished their All-Pro punter an epic goodbye on social media following reports the team had signed his successor. The Chiefs could have several key players leave in free agency this offseason as they have limited cap space for the 2024 season.

The Kansas City Chiefs signed a new punter

Per GH Media, the Cheifs signed former Buffalo Bills punter Matt Araiza on Thursday.

The back-to-back Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs are looking to become the first team in the Super Bowl era to pull off a three-peat and are trying to improve their roster on the margins. It is being reported by multiple sources that they are signing former Buffalo Bills punter Matt Araiza to fill the void by free agent Tommy Townsend.

The Chiefs are now set to watch All-Pro punter Townsend head into free agency. Townsend made a huge play in the Super Bowl when his last punt ended in a Chiefs fumble recovery.
