The Chiefs added some new decor to their indoor practice complex. This week, they hung another giant Super Bowl banner next to the one from last year.
In fact, the Chiefs are building quite the banner collection. After going 51 years without a Super Bowl win, Kansas City has won three Lombardi Trophies from 2020 to now. And Lombardi Trophies mean banners, everywhere.

These days, the Chiefs are working on winning three Super Bowls in a row. It’s officially NFL Draft season and Kansas City owns the 32nd pick. The first round is April 25, with all festivities in Detroit. (Kansas City played host to the draft last April).
So who should the Chiefs choose? The mock drafts aren’t in agreement in either names or even positions. We know Patrick Mahomes would love another receiver. KC did sign Marquise “Hollywood” Brown in free agency, giving the Chiefs an outside speed option. But Mahomes needs more than tight end Travis Kelce to target.
Plus, receiver Rashee Rice, last year’s rookie sensation, got into legal trouble back home in Dallas. He’s charged with one count of collision involving serious bodily injury and six counts of collision involving injury. He also faces a count of aggravated assault. Police say he left the scene of a high-speed crash that caused four other cars to wreck. Rice likely faces discipline from the NFL after his case works its way through the legal system.
So many NFL analysts believe the Chiefs will opt for a receiver at the end of the first round. And this year’s NFL Draft is stacked with elite wideouts. Keep your eye on some of these prospects — Xavier Worthy and Adonai Mitchell, both from Texas, along with LSU’s Brian Thomas Jr. Others have mentioned Georgia receiver Ladd McConkey.
Or, the Chiefs could look for an offensive tackle. And like receiver, the first round should feature a high number of the big guys. Names popping up for KC include BYU’s Kingsley Suamataia and Arizona’s Jordan Morgan. Meanwhile, ESPN’s Field Yates predicts the Chiefs will go the cornerback route by choosing Missouri DB Ennis Rakestraw Jr.
Kansas City solidified its defense this off season by signing Chris Jones to a hefty, five-year deal to make him the highest-paid tackle in NFL history. The contract is worth $158.75 million. He’ll average $31.75 million per year. The recently retired Aaron Donald, at $31.67 million, had owned the defensive tackle pay record.
Off season workouts begin Monday. So players can see that new Super Bowl banner and be motivated for another championship.
